Big Desert Energy

It’s that time of year again: daylight savings time has ended, the Great British Baking Show has had its finale, and I have added-to-cart (and not actually bought) every single Madewell sweater on the Nordstrom Rack website…I guess it’s safe to say that fall is absolutely in full swing.

Because fall is so upon us, I’ve decided I need a cohesive autumnal vibe. Also separately and coincidentally, I’ve really been wanting to go hiking in Sedona. However, I’ve never been hiking in my life and am extremely afraid of heights, so in order to answer that ~desert calling~, I think for now I’m just going to curate a desert-inspired fall vibe. So, here are a few of the ways I’m bringing that BDE (big desert energy) to St. Louis this fall!

Essie Rocky Rose

Okay this color was really one of the main reasons I went for a desert vibe. The color just screams red rocks to me…but in a muted way (whispers red rocks to me?). The color is the perfect balance of orange red and pink and is a soft enough color to look nature-y. Super into it and it give me Halloween vibes without having to have legit orange nails.

Mojave Ghost by Byredo

Okay this is one of the other major reasons I’m into the desert all of the sudden. This summer I smelled this perfume at Merz Apothocary (see my post on Chicago Beauty Spots for more) and I absolutely fell in love. It is supposedly derived from a ghost flower, but I mostly I like it because it makes me feel like a sexy ghost that haunts like a dry, desert cave.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Dawn

This is actually something I use year round, but I really think works in the fall. I love the deep pigmentation that Cloud Paint offers and this muted orange works really well with my skin tone. Also, if you love (or like or hate?) Glossier, stick around because I’m about to do a big haul of stuff I got!

Madewell Camel Coat

Okay this one is a little bit cheating because I got it last year…but I never had the opportunity to wear it because I didn’t bring it abroad with me (couldn’t fit it in my suitcase ;() SO I’m really excited about it this year! It’s nice and thick and the color is literally desert sand city so how could I be mad.

So if you see me around looking and smelling like a desert rock, now you know why. What fall vibes are you all going for?? Xoxo, Natalie
